Containerized freight shipping is gaining popularity in the Russian Far East
Railroad is losing its appeal as a vehicle for cargo delivery, while the scope of containerized freight shipping is growing by the day.
In October alone, the rate of containerized shipping made 40.000 TEU to exceed the indicators from last year by almost 6%. And that was for the Russian Far East only. The total volume of containerized shipping reached the 373.000 TEU mark in the current year to demonstrate a 20% growth against last year. That could not fail to cause growth in the demand for companies engaged in containerized shipping. For instance, SANNA Company claimed a significant growth in their customers number during the year.
On the strength of the Far Eastern Railroad information, an order of 4.3 million ton of cargo was handled during the period from the start of the year through October to demonstrate a 15% increase against last year. Daily average loading increased by the same — to above 14.000 ton per day.
Railroad transportation have been demonstrating reversed results — an abrupt fall in demand for that method of delivery maintained its downward trend for the duration of a few latest months. Than way, once the indicators in September were above those of the last year by 3.7%, it reversed in October to 3% below. Accrued annual indicators demonstrate reduced demand by a sweeping 3.3% against the year 2012.
